Welcome to our Nursery at St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School, Pontefract, where children are supported to settle happily, grow in confidence and develop a love of learning from the very start.
Our Nursery is open to families across Pontefract and nearby communities, such as Ackworth, Knottingley, Featherstone and Badsworth. We have places available now for children can start the term following their 3rd birthday. Why not plan ahead? You can apply ahead of time to secure your child’s place in our wonderful Nursery.

We currently offer fully funded 15-hour and 30-hour Nursery places.

Nursery Session Times
Morning session: 8.45am–2.45pm
Afternoon session: 12.25pm–3.25pm
Full day: 8.45am–2.45pm
Full day with extended provision: 8.45am–3.35pm

Pupils attending a full day (8.45am–2.45pm) have the option to access extended provision until 3.24pm.
This service is available at a small additional cost. If you require extended provision, please contact the school office for further information.

Children attending Nursery for full-day hours (8.45am–2.45pm) have the option of a hot, on-site school meal for a small cost. Children who are eligible for free school meals will receive a free lunch. Alternatively, children may bring a packed lunch from home.
Children attending morning-only or afternoon-only sessions will have lunch at home.
Pre-school pupils are invited to wear the school uniform.
